Wow.......blog neglect going on here. Let's see......kids are doing great in school but that first full week of early mornings and full days of activity kinda wore them out. Hopefully we'll get into a good groove here and they won't be so wiped at the end of the week from now on.
I've been at work a full week now. Last week was mostly operational training, reading manuals, touring properties, etc. This week I have a packed schedule of sales training, computer training and working lunches. The time goes by so quickly--before I know it, it's 6 p.m. and I'm just getting home to make dinner, clean the kitchen, give baths, read stories, talk about their day, say prayers, have couch time with Adam and finally--I have a few minutes to check email and breathe. But not for long, as I need to do a load of laundry, make lunches for tomorrow, set out clothes for tomorrow........you get the idea.
So, I guess you could say that the kids' aren't the only tired people around here.
I titled this post 'Expectations' because I feel like they're changing lately. Expectations of the type of mother I want to be and what my kids expect of me (which, let me tell you, seems like I'll never achieve these days); expectations of what I will do at work (much different atmosphere than anywhere I've ever been before....good, but there's more responsibility and--yes--greater expectations); expectations of how to mold my life as I move on from marriage and get used to being 'alone'. I'm not dreading any of this, just wondering if I have the energy and the time to work on them all at the same time.
No time to ponder too long, though, as that laundry won't do itself. :)
Oh--and for those of you who have asked what exactly I'm doing, I am the newest 'Business Development Manager' for Marriott ExecuStay. This means sales and marketing for Marriott ExecuStay. We provide interim housing for stays of 30 days or longer in properties around KC and across the country. So I'm looking for companies/businesses/people who need--or know and can connect me with those who need--fully furnished corporate apartments.

That does sound exhausting! I hope it all settles in soon. Starting a new job is so hard. I bet you'll be great there!
Lisa,
Always know that you are stronger than most women I know, that your kids (through your words and actions) know that you love them so very much, and that striving to meet expecatations is simply a source of motivation to always be YOUR personal best.
Take care, Friend.
Starting a new job is exciting, and this job sounds like it could be interesting! Not having to sit behind a desk all day, getting out and meeting people!
You and the kids will adjust to the new life and I bet it is going to get easier!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
